I'm a small-town boy breaking into a big business. Hailing from rural Kentucky, I moved to Chicago to pursue an acting career in the Windy City. I've worked mostly on stage and in the shop, but I've also designed, directed, and devised. I just love it all.

During my studies at Grinnell College I created the 24-Hour Theatre Festival. I was appointed to the Theatre SEPC (Student Educational Policy Committee), later acting as Chair, where I planned student events and represented student interests.
In addition to doing straight theatre, I experimented. One acting seminar focused on devised work and performance art. In it, I created pieces about the Sandy Hook shootings, the mythic status of Amelia Earhart, and plenty in between (chronicled in my blog as Stories From The Strange Side, tagged #SFTSS). As a senior, another student and I explored video art. We ended with two pieces, part of single exhibit titled SLIPPING. If you're interested in seeing them, shoot me a message through my Contact page and I'll happily distribute the links. I also trained at the London Dramatic Academy in the spring of 2014, leaving with a toolbox of tricks and techniques. It was intense, exhilarating, and convinced me that this is what I was meant to do. |

Non-theatre passions include baking, dinosaurs, peanut butter, and the great outdoors, but I can find enjoyment in just about anything. I love puns and hate Red Hots. Science is great, violence is not.
I'm always amazed by the diversity of experiences and always seek to expand my horizons. I'm open to new approaches and am always ready to play. Let's play together soon! |
